Passion For Place, Musketaquid's Earth Month Exhibit is up at the Emerson Umbrella Gallery in Concord (open daily). I don't have a piece in the show this year, but I helped hang the show with the great Musketaquid artists. The Earth Day celebration is Saturday, April 30, starting with a River Ceremony where floating chorus singers give song to the floating artworks that are ritualistically set free into the river. Then the parade: some very old puppets, giant puppets, walk, hop, fly, sway, through Concord center (Musketaquid being a native term for the town "where the water runs through the grasses"), finally grouping at the Umbrella for a festival of song, dance, food, art, crafts and sponsorship.

If you're interesting in getting involved, making a puppet or a float:
Puppet and Parade Workshops • 1–5 pm Sundays, March 20 and 27, and April 3 and 10, Emerson Umbrella
Earth Float Workshops • 1–4 pm Saturday, April 9 and Saturday, April 23, Emerson Umbrella
